Convergent Thinking vs. Divergent Thinking

Hello !Hello! welcome back to my blog. (happy after Spain win the world cup 2010 :)well for the next topic I like to explain a little bit about creative thinking in Convergent Thinking and also Divergent Thinking that I had learned in my previous class.

Convergent Thinking

• From my studies , I believe that convergent thinking is just focused on solving problems that have a single correct solution
  

• For example , if we given a multiple choice question then we have to use convergent thinking because we only have to find the correct answer to that question.(single)

Divergent Thinking

• As what I know ,Divergent thinking can define as thinking outwards instead of inward.That mean we can able to develop original idea and come up with a problem solution
  

• For example, I took a story from Albert Einstein . Einstein asked himself what it would be like to ride on a beam of light. It took him many years of thought experiments, however the answer helped him develop the special theory of relativity.

Novelty, Innovation and Invention

hello I'm back, last week in creative studies class, i learned new thing . It is about novelty, innovation and invention.let me elaborate about this new topic .

Novelty

Base on what I have studies, novelty is about the quality of being new or unique I notice that novelty have two different types that is subjective and objective novelty.

• for subjective novelty is - Point of view of anything and everything being new or different,meanwhile objective novelty is a progression about something new through generation

Innovation

• for me innovation is the ability or process to turn some existed thing into something new
  
• accepted by the public or community
  
• Innovation also need to be satisfy the particular need of everyone.

Invention

In my opinion,invention is a process of creating the new idea from the knowledge or experience that we learn from day to day to create or produce a something new and useful for everyone to use it in everyday life

• I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Lightroom 2.3 to create this picture
• for this picture, I make it blur transition effect on the background image . Using the white and black high key effects in photoshop and adjust the contrast and brightness in lightroom

for my first class , i had learned few thing about creative and creativity..
let me elaborate about this topic.


creative studies - process which improve the ability to be creative

definition of Creative

• the ability or power to create a creative art works and with a lot of imaginations.
• Creative is a promoting a construction or creation ideas

definition of Creativity

• the creative imagination is embodied in fantasies or daydreams.
• Creativity is a variety of perspectives and is important in numerous contexts.

• Creativity is also defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others.
• Creativity is also has been associated with right or forehead brain activity or even specifically with lateral thinking
  
• For me creativity is the ability to think up and design new ideas and concepts.

my expectation from the class:

• to learn something new from this creative studies
• enjoy and have fun while learning this subject
• be a creative and creativity person

what would I like to learn from this class:

• how to be a creative ourselves from all aspects
• ability to understand the cultural and social aspects of design
